Board of Directors Meeting - Notice of Regular Session
Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.01 and A.R.S §38-431.02 notice is hereby given to the general public that the Board of Directors of ASU Preparatory Academy, will hold a Regular Session, on Tuesday September 12, 2023 via Zoom https://asu.zoom.us/j/84031417702 or dial into +1 602 753 0140 Meeting ID: 8403 1417 702 at 9:00 AM AZ.
The Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the agenda, with exception of public hearings. One or more members of the Board may participate in the meeting by telephonic communications. Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02(H) the Board will not discuss, consider, or decide those matters not listed on the agenda. Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03 (A), the Board may vote to go into Executive Session, which will not be open to the public. Copies of the agenda and supporting materials will be available 24 hours prior to the meeting online at https://asuprep.asu.edu/governance/

ASU Preparatory Kindergarten Early Assessment Tool
Laura Maloney, Executive Director of Academics: ASU Preparatory Digital, will present.
Pursuant to revised A.R.S. 15-701.3 the Board shall approve an evaluation instrument to administer to kindergarten students to screen for reading deficiencies.
ASU Preparatory has chosen the Arizona State Board of Education approved Kindergarten Early Assessment tool Teaching Strategies Gold. Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) is a tool that does not interrupt instruction, as it allows teachers to capture evidence of student learning in the moment. This tool is provided at no cost by the state.

It is requested that the Board approve the selection of Teaching Strategies Gold as the ASU Preparatory Kindergarten Entry Assessment Tool.

Internet Safety Process
Megan Warren, Assistant Director of Compliance, will present.
It is requested that the Board of Directors adopt the Internet Safety Process.

If needed pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3), the Board may go into executive session, which will not be open to the public, to consult with its attorney and obtain legal advice on any item listed on the agenda.

School Start Update
Betsy Fowler and Jill Rogier to present school start update.
Presentation reviewed enrollment numbers and highlights of the start of the year at each campus. Mr. Dean inquired as to our status on enrollment goals. Jill and Betsy shared that we are continuing to enroll and on track to meet them.
ASU Preparatory Class of 2024 Graduation
